BIM experts, David Philp and Simon Rawlinson, have been confirmed to Chair the two-day BIM Show Live 2018 event taking place in Newcastle’s Boiler Shop venue
BIM Show Live 2018 is delighted to confirm that David Philp will Chair day one, and Simon Rawlinson will Chair day two of the construction industry’s most anticipated event of the BIM calendar.
The BIM Show Live two-day event has become synonymous with disruptive thinking; asking the global audience of construction professionals to abandon their comfort zone and explore the digital construction trends of tomorrow.
This technology-led event is one of the most trusted platforms for learning, knowledge sharing and industry insight for all things digital construction based on its four inspiring content streams: Next Generation, Data, Strategy and Stories.
Since 2011, BIM Show Live has examined emerging technologies and how these can benefit the construction industry, and 2018 will be no different where we explore developments over the past 12 months and look forward to emerging trends which will drive and secure the continual digitisation of the construction industry and a Digital Built Britain.
Our dear friend, expert and regular at the show, David Philp, Global BIM/IM Consultancy Director at AECOM & Chair of the Scottish BIM Delivery Group will again Chair day one after presenting his thoughts on the state of the industry.
Affectionately titled ‘The Philpster’, David is a well-known figure, ambassador, Professor and influencer.
Speaking about BIM Show Live 2018 David said:
“I’ve always enjoyed being part of this event, and it’ll be great to return once again to disseminate the latest in our drive toward digitisation, and the Digital Built Britain programme.
“BIM Show Live provides the perfect platform for the adventurous disruptors amongst us, and I’m sure that 2018 will deliver the wow-factor yet again”.
Our Chair for day two is the BIM celebrity, Simon Rawlinson, Head of Strategic Research and Insight at Arcadis. Simon is another regular compere for BIM Show Live and with his 20 years experience in construction and built environment research and innovation, and as a member of the UK Government BIM Task Group since 2010, we are thrilled to have his expertise on board and to hear his thoughts on where the industry is heading.
Simon described why he would be returning:
“Last year’s BIM Show Live was an inspiring event, full of future-thinkers and passion for our industry’s growth, so I’m keen to be a part of that again.
“As we move on with a greater understanding of what innovation can achieve, it’s important that we have this content-driven event where professionals can share that knowledge.”
For 2018, BIM Show Live will once again be staged in Newcastle’s the Boiler Shop, Stephenson’s Quarter – on Wednesday 28 February and Thursday 1 March, with the new BIM Awards taking place on the evening of Tuesday 27th February.
Space Group CEO Rob Charlton and founder of BIM Show Live said:
“Our industry is progressing at an accelerated rate, and at BIM Show Live we believe we must bring our visitors the very best our industry has to offer for technology and digital construction, plus what has changed year-on-year and what this means for future projects.
“What makes this year extra special is our BIM Awards. We know there is amazing work being carried out in the digital built environment both in the UK and globally, and we want to reward that talent, innovation, determination and tenacity.”
